Sample 11Plus Questions as used in Gloucestershire Grammar Schools Admissions Test 2023

What do 11Plus Exam papers look like?

Question Paper

An A4 booklet, 20-30 pages long, containing multiple choice questions.

Paper A-English and Verbal Skills: 20 reading comprehension questions, 30 spelling, punctuation and word choice questions, 30 verbal reasoning questions.

Paper B-Maths and Non-Verbal Skills: 40 mixed maths questions and 40 non-verbal reasoning questions divided into 2-3 sections of different question types.

Answer Sheet

A single, double-sided A4 sheet on which you must mark your answers.

Each question is numbered and has five answers to choose from, labelled with the letters A-E or sometimes A-D and N.

You must mark your answer in the box that corresponds to the letter you have chosen. Mark your answer with a thick, horizontal pencil mark.

Do not make any other marks or write on this answer sheet. It will be read by a computer and so must be kept clean.
